Sharpen Ministry Skills
We see every church developing servant "lead-like Jesus" pastors and church leaders. This can be accomplished through Mentoring, Coaching, Peer-to-Peer Relationships, Seminary Education, and other training conferences.
Mentoring
Mentoring involves a respected or knowledgeable leader, generally with more experience than you, showing you the way to improve ministry service. Typically you yearn for knowledge and wisdom you do not think you have, and ask this person to provide guidance for you. A relationship with a mentor can impact you in many ways.
Coaching
Coaching involves a coach coming alongside you in your life and ministry setting to help you journey from where you are to where you want to be in light of God's guidance in your life. In a sense it is a Paraclete-type relationship where your coach joins you in the journey. A great coach may provide little new information or knowledge. Instead, he helps you take what you know, or can discover, and leads you to discern what forward movement looks like.
Peer Learning Relationships
Peer learning involves a cluster of ministers, usually 3-4, who covenant to meet for a specific period of time in order to share knowledge and wisdom gained through their ministry experiences.
Seminary Education
Seminary Education involves a formal process of learning. Colleges and seminaries offer a wide variety of programs to meet the needs of bi-vocational and vocational ministers. For Southern Baptists, there are two local avenues of seminary education.

Training Events
Training events are one day to week long seminars or conferences geared to meet a specific need.
